You may have seen a lot of North Vancouver native, Rowan Wick, in the news lately. The up and coming player has been in the news with his switch from hitter to pitcher, as he climbs the ranks of the St. Louis Cardinals franchise. He also recently earned a spot and played on Canada’s 2017 WBC team. Rowan started his baseball playing with Highlands Little League so perhaps it should be no surprise when he recently showed up at the Highlands batting cage, however, it was a big day for the young players who met with him.

Coach Darrin Barber had three young players working on their swing in the cage when Rowan stopped by to warm up his arm, in advance of heading off for spring training. After introducing himself, the boys stepped aside to let him practice and to see what 90 mph throwing looks like up close. After his session Rowan went home and gathered up some rookie cards and baseballs to share with the boys. These now rest on the boy’s shelves as they have some big league dreams of their own. Thanks for stopping by Rowan!
