We encourage parents/players to complete a coach evaluation. We strive to provide support and education to our coaches and we welcome the feedback that parents can provide to assist our coaches.
Majors & Minors--Procedure for Calling up a
Player Required to complete a Roster
The calling
up of a player is sometimes required due to conflicts with games as a result of
school functions, family holidays, weekend events, etc.It happens and it is not acceptable to
cancel or forfeit games due to lack of players, therefore, we have a procedure
to follow if you find your team requiring a player(s).
1.At
the start of the season, inform your parents that you require 48 hours notice
if a player has a conflict with a game.Obviously, this does not apply in the case of illness, injury, or other
unplanned circumstance.
2.Contact
the Player Agent and/or the Age Group
co-ordinator for a list of the players who have been listed as potential
call-ups based on player evaluation results and coaches’ recommendations.
3.Contact
the COACH of the team of which the
player is a member.Determine if
the player would be available from the team to play up a level in a particular
game.The calling up of the
player MUST NOT leave the other team
short of players or leave them without positional players (i.e. pitchers,
catchers).The called up player
shall not pitch.
4.Determine
if the player has already been called up and, if so, for how many games.A player can only play 3 games in a
level above his/her own, therefore, it is crucial that the Player Agent and/or
Age Group Co-ordinator is aware of any players being called up. If a AAA
or Majors team loses a player(s) and needs to bring someone up on a full-time
basis, a request must be made to the AGC and the Player Agent.
5.After
confirming with the coach of the lower level team that the player has
permission to be called up, contact the player and his/her parents.Provide scheduling information and
other team requirements.The player
is to wear his/her own uniform.
