BC Minor comes to North Vancouver

There have been changes to Little League in North Vancouver as Forest Hills and North Van Central have disbanded their Little League associations and formed the core of a new association within BC Minor Baseball. The most obvious change for Highlands is our catchment area grows to now include all of North Vancouver - West of Lonsdale. This has resulted in registrations increasing over this time last year and we anticipate a larger enrolment when the season begins.

We also understand that for many families, there is a great deal of confusion surrounding these changes. For the last 58 years, there has only been one Little League for North Vancouver. Now that there is a choice, it's important to understand the differences between the two. We have prepared the following FAQ to help you through this process.

Little League since 1959

Highlands Little League (“Highlands”) is based in North Vancouver, offering league play and post season high performance opportunities for 4-16 year olds. Originally chartered back in 1959, Highlands is one of the oldest baseball organizations on the North Shore. The association currently plays out of Delbrook Park, a unique complex that maintains four separate diamonds (located at the corner of Queens Ave and Delbrook Ave).

The park, which is continually active throughout the baseball season,  is also the proud home of the North Shore Challengers Division, a division of Baseball BC that provides an opportunity for children with cognitive or physical disabilities to enjoy the full benefits of participation in baseball.  Our community prides itself on having a long history of being the most inclusive baseball district in Canada.

Highlands Little League represents an incredible opportunity for children to build confidence, strengthen friendships and belong to a growing community of families that care about sport and the joy that children experience when they play on a team to their best of their abilities.
