2019 Postseason Evaluations/Tryouts on June 1st and 2nd 2019

For those players/families interested in post seasson play:

Highland’s Little League offers a more serious/competitive postseason playing experience in our All Star and Select teams (info below – teams selected in evaluation process) and a more casual/less competitive summer playing experience in our D5 Little League Summer Ball (more information on this option to come out in the next few weeks – fair play teams made – no evaluations)

The Evaluations for All Stars and Selects will take place at Delbrook Park on June 1, 2019 (and possibly June 2, 2019) times to be confirmed soon.

All players who meet the baseball age eligibility requirements (check your player’s baseball age here) are invited to try out for the following teams:

1. 11/12 All-Stars

2. 9/10 All-Stars

3. Select 10/11/12s (composition of these teams depends on player turn out)

4. Select 9s

5. Super 8s

Teams will be selected by the Head Coach (as approved by the Highlands Board of Directors). The teams will carry rosters of between 11 and 13 players, dependent upon the age group.

As you consider whether your player has an opportunity to be selected for one of these teams, please be aware, that there is an expectation that baseball becomes their sports focus for at least these periods:

1. 11/12 All-Stars – June 2 to July 28

2. 9/10 All-Stars – June 2 to July 20

3. Select 9s – June 2 to July. Confirmed tournaments June 21 to 23, and June 26 to July 1

4. Select 10/11/12s – June 2 to TBD likely Mid July

5. Super 8’s – June 2 – TBD but may be Mid July. Confirmed tournament July 5 to 7th.

Starting with end of the regular season schedule, practices will take place at the coach’s discretion.

For All Stars: this year we will be asking parents and players to sign a commitment letter that confirms that the player will attend 100% of the games and practices (with the understanding that there may be a very few isolated instances where arriving late for/leaving early from a practice becomes unavoidable).

If you have plans between the period June 2 and the expected end date above, that will make your player unable to attend practices/games, please inform the folks running check in at your evaluation/try-out session, so that the coaches can take this into consideration when selecting the team.

There will be a cost associated with each post season team which will include team apparel and league fees. Please let us know if cost is a barrier to participation as financial assistance is available.
